We are in the heart of Lagos, a small laid back town, famous by its good vibe and party atmosphere, not to mention the warm and sunny days. Here you'll find top quality beaches with their clear sands and clean waters. Our coast has great quality of air and seawater hard to find elsewhere in Western Europe. Lagos has also an interesting historical heritage. If you are experiencing Spain & Portugal, travelling here it's definitely a must, since Lagos has the perfect atmosphere for everybody.
Near Lagos you will find places that could be an alternative as a day trip, some of them only when you drive your own car, moto or scooter, others are good to get there via public transport.
The west coast is a protected area to visit. Or at least Sagres and Cabo S. Vincente, "the end of the world". Towards east, a good spot is Silves for its heritage, specially the old Castle.
At Gold Coast Hostel we help you with any information you might need about Lagos and area and also about other great places in Portugal, what to see, how to get there, bus and trains timetables and more.
This area is easier if you are on a budget since most supermarket food and beverage is cheaper then in most western European countries. You can also get food out in lots of places. Meals may range from 4 - 5 euros (take away Chicken shop) to 6 - 8 euros for pizzas and special pastas. Light meals may be around five euros or cheaper and you'll find awesome meat, fish or seafood dishes ranging from 7 to 15 euros.
At night, booze at the best spots may range from only € 1.50 to € 6.00 a drink for most of them, including shots and cocktails.
